  • Is this course suitable for beginners, or do I need experience in the music industry?

    The Art of Live Events is designed with beginners in mind. Whether you're brand new to the music industry or have some experience (but not in events specifically), we've made sure the lessons are easy to follow, while still providing depth and value. Our goal is to equip you with practical tools so you can start networking and seeking out opportunities with confidence. This course draws from personal experience in the industry, including roles as a Promoter Rep, Venue Rep, and Production Coordinator in live events.

  • How long will it take to complete the course?

    The course is designed to be completed in as little as 5 weeks, with 2 modules released each week to keep things manageable and engaging. However, if you prefer to take it slower and complete 1 module per week, you can easily finish The Art of Live Events in 10 weeks. There's a lot of valuable content to cover, and we want to ensure it’s easy to absorb.

  • What kinds of roles can I pursue after completing this course?

    After completing this course, you'll be prepared for a Promoter Rep role, but the skills you gain can also lead to: Production Manager: Oversees event logistics, scheduling, and ensures all technical and production elements are properly coordinated. Production Coordinator: Aligns and manages all production elements to ensure a smooth event. Production Assistant: Supports various tasks in the production process. Event Coordinator: Handles event planning and ensures smooth execution. Venue Rep: Manages logistics as the venue’s primary point of contact. Artist Liaison: Works directly with artists to ensure their needs are met. These roles overlap with the responsibilities of a Promoter Rep and offer valuable experience in live event production. You’ll also find various employment options: Contractor: Concert Promoter: Work with a promoter who books events at multiple venues, with opportunities to tour regionally or nationally as your career grows. DIY Promoter: Some individuals book their own shows as promoters and are interested in learning about advancing and day-of-show processes. Employee: Music Venue: Others might work as an in-house production manager or coordinator at a music venue, serving as the venue liaison. Whether you’re aiming to work with a venue, festival, or directly with touring artists and promoters, the knowledge you gain from this course will prepare you for a wide range of positions in the live events industry.

  • Who will guide me through this course?

    Your guide is Stephanie Gerich, the Program Director, who brings 15 years of music industry experience in production, coordination, and management. Stephanie has worked as a Promoter Rep for music venues as well as indie and large-scale concert promoters, giving her an understanding of the industry from various angles. Her journey began with a part-time sound engineering course and a job at a music store. From there, she gained hands-on experience in various roles at a music venue—whether selling merch for bands, working as a box office representative, or with management as a venue liaison. These experiences helped her build a well-rounded understanding of live events. Stephanie’s career path included internships with a record label, an artist agency, and a music publication, as well as Production Assistant gigs at music festivals. She also worked alongside a Talent Buyer, assisting with contracts, advancing, and marketing efforts. From 2013-2019, Stephanie regularly worked as a Promoter Rep, even going on the road with artists for portions of their tours. In 2019, Stephanie started teaching others, helping them build the skills and knowledge needed as a Promoter Rep. Fast forward to 2025, and she continues to mentor students through this digital course, sharing her passion for live events. Outside of teaching, she still supports artists as a Production Coordinator, working remotely while balancing life as a mom. Stephanie is here to help you build your confidence and skills in the music industry!

    Earnings as a Promoter Rep can vary depending on your experience and the size of the event – and in some cases, you might even land a salaried role with a promoter or venue. For most freelance gigs, you'll earn a flat fee that covers everything from advancing the show to handling logistics on the big day. Here’s a quick breakdown: Entry-Level: Up to $300 per show Mid-Level Experience: $300–$800 per show Experienced Reps: $500–$1,000+ per show On top of that, you could earn per diems, bonuses, and opportunities to tour which includes accommodations & transportation.
